I am a 53 year old Advertising and Marketing Consultant employed by the NBC / ABC TV Affiliate’s in Ft Myers Florida. I moved from Ohio to Florida in 1981.  Have spent 36 years married, we have four grown children, three talented daughter-in-laws one amazing son in law and we are surrounded by seven energetic grandchildren ages 0-6.  My running started in 1995 as a promise to our college bound daughter, I planned to train all summer thinking we could run together (she was running mid 17 min 5ks, myself; I would choke after a block!) our oldest son was running low 15’s (so he was out of the question) I would follow him in the car with the radio playing.  Eventually I was able to run farther and faster I was so impressed that the more I ran the easier it was as I spoke to people that didn’t think they could work out I would keep saying think you can not that you can’t (kind of like Thomas Alva Edison the decision is already made). That’s what would eventually lead me into coaching I spent three years as a youth developmental coach and seven years at the High School level, its so enjoyable to watch runners taking baby steps and eventually at the state meet with no confidence to all the confidence that they needed to move on to the next level. During my years coaching I had the pleasure of coaching two of our 3 sons on the High School level those are memories that will live forever! I still continually run into past athletes now grown with their own children.  I enjoy racing all distances 5k’s to marathons, adventure Tri’s, mountain and road biking, running trails is my favorite. I am presently training for Duathalon Nationals. Normally you will find me training with Ft Myers High School girl’s team of which my daughter-in- law is the coach.
